The internet is basically a giant server filled with porn, ads for online poker, and cute cats. Everything else is seemingly just superfluous. But despite our obsession with our feline friends, there are very few online casinos with a cat theme.
despite our obsession with our feline friends, there are very few online casinos with a cat theme
In fact, I have reviewed hundreds of online casinos over the years, and I can’t recall a single site that uses a cat theme. Until now, that is, as Cat Casino is here to change the game, and on the surface, it looks like the perfect destination for cat lovers like myself.
The question is, is there any substance over all that style? Does the casino actually have great games and bonus features or is it all cuteness, curiosity, and kitty litter?
Let’s find out.
Basics
I don’t want to start this Cat Casino with a negative comment…but I will.
One of my first issues with the site is that it doesn’t exactly go all-in with its theme. In fact, it detours so much that you can’t help but wonder if it knows it’s supposed to be a cat-themed casino.
Not only is the site backdrop very bland, featuring a stark white spotted with splashes of colour, but there are very few cats. In fact, I checked all sections of the site and only found a couple of cartoon cats in the promotional banners. There’s the logo as well, of course, but that’s pretty much the extent of this co-called cat theme.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the logo is actually smartly designed, and on a site with lots of colour, cuteness, and cats, it would be ideal. As it stands, it doesn’t look very cat-like.
The other way that this casino could have played into its cat theme was by highlighting cat-themed slots. There aren’t a great deal of pet cat-themed slots out there, but if you include wild cats, there are lots.
At the time of writing, however, the game that the casino chooses to highlight is The Dog House. I kid you not. You’ll find it in the spotlight on all pages, including the homepage.
Of course, casinos don’t need to have a theme and as seen with sites like Tsars Casino, they can get away with keeping things very basic and vague. But you can’t call yourself “Cat Casino” and then say, “we’re not really committed to the idea of being a cat casino”.
I should be clear that the theme is not bad and there are some cats. The layout is fine and it’s easy to get around. I’m just not excited by what I see here. Based on the name alone, I was expecting something that would wow me in the same manner as Cadabrus Casino, but what I got was actually very basic.
Software and Games
Cat Casino works with a few top developers, ensuring the games room has a varied selection of titles for you to explore. These developers including Blueprint Gaming, home of the Jackpot King progressive jackpot system, as well as titles like The Goonies and Fishin’ Frenzy; Big Time Gaming, the creators of the excellent and massively popular Megaways mechanic, and NetEnt, which is a favourite among most casino players.
You will also find my personal favourite provider, Betsoft, as well as Quickspin, Microgaming, Yggdrasil, Red Tiger Gaming, and many more. Take a look at the tables below this Cat Casino review for a full list.
The games are categorized by game type, and you can find these options in the sidebar on the left of the game screen. They include:
- Bonus Buy
- Megaways
- Slots
- Table Games
- Scratch Cards
- Jackpots
- Live Casino
It’s not the widest selection of categories, and as always, I would have liked to see some theme styles (Egyptian, Animals, Space, etc.,) as well as some more features (Cascading Reels, Roaming Wilds). But in all fairness, it’s very rare for casinos to do this, and even the epic MELbet keeps things short and simple when it comes to categories.
Bonuses and Promotions
The Cat Casino Welcome Bonus is spread across 5 deposits. You can only collect one bonus at a time, so once you have finished with one of them, just move onto the next one.
It keeps you coming back for more and ensures that you don’t get bored with the casino as soon as you have finished with your first bonus. Of course, the first is the biggest and best, but the others have their merits, as shown below:
- First Deposit Bonus: 100% up to €300 and 150 Free Spins
- Second Deposit Bonus: 50% up to €400
- Third Deposit Bonus: 25% up to €500
- Fourth Deposit Bonus: 50% up to €400
- Fifth Deposit Bonus: 100% up to €300
The bonuses don’t stop there, either. There are also “mini”, “major”, and “grand” cashback offers, giving you anywhere from €20 to €200.
If that’s not enough to keep you making those deposits and playing those games, check out the real money slot tournaments. You won’t find a VIP Scheme to keep you interested, but with all those reload offers and tournaments, why would you want one?
When collecting these bonuses, be sure to consider the following Terms and Conditions. These apply to the Welcome Bonus and the Reload Bonuses, but they may differ from the Cashback offers and the Tournaments:
- The minimum deposit amount is €20.
- The Free Spins are available on selection slot machines.
- The bonus is available for 7 days, after which it will expire.
- There is a wagering requirement of 35x, and it applies to both the real and bonus money.
These Terms and Conditions are also subject to change, so make sure you read the exact conditions of all the bonuses you collect before you opt-in.
Payment Options
Cat Casino is a crypto-friendly online casino that gives players the choice between Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Tether. But it also accepts fiat currency options, including Visa, Mastercard, ecoPayz, Interac, AstroPay, Jeton, and Siru Mobile.
It’s a good selection, and one that will appeal to a broad range of players. There are also no fees to worry about, although you may be hit with fees from your payment provider, depending on the method used.
Withdrawal speed and limits are usually a contentious issue with online casinos (as noted in my previous review of Cadoola Casino and countless others), and it’s the same on Cat Casino.
You need to withdraw a minimum of €10, which is fine, but the maximum is capped at €5,000 a day, €10,000 a week, and €35,000 a month, which is definitely not okay.
The withdrawals can also be quite slow, taking anywhere up to 72 hours to process. If you’re using Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, it’s not much of an issue and you’ll get your cash after that 3-day waiting period. If you’re using bank transfers or debit cards, it could take another 3 days, which means it could be a week before you get your funds.
It does state that many withdrawals under €1,000 are processed in 24-hours, but notes that this is on a “first-come, first-served basis”, so if you’re depositing during a busy period, it could still take several days.
Highlights
- A Range of Real Money Slot Tournaments
- A 5-Tier Welcome Bonus
- Support for Mobile and Desktop Players
- Support for Cryptocurrencies and Fiat Currencies
- A Wide Selection of Payment Options
User Reviews
Cat Casino hasn’t been around for a very long time, so there aren’t a great deal of reviews out there. However, the reviews that do exist are fairly positive and there is a lot to like here.
Players have praised the casino’s selection of games and its mobile support. They have also spoken fondly on its many deposit and withdrawal options, as well as the bonuses and jackpots.
On the flip side, however, there are a few negative comments about the site’s slow withdrawals. As we have seen with sites like Pokerstars Casino, iGaming deposits can—and should—be instant. At the very least, they should be processed within a day. The fact that Cat Casino can take 3 days to process withdrawals is very concerning and is clearly an issue for the majority of its players.
Still, there are more positives than negatives and players clearly love the site.
FAQs
When Was Cat Casino Launched?
Cat Casino launched in 2021 and is one of many Bitcoin online casinos to have launched during this year.
Is Cat Casino Licensed?
Yes. Like most Bitcoin online casinos, Cat Casino is licensed by the authorities of Curacao. As a result, it’s a safe, secure, and legitimate online casino. The licensor provides a long list of rules and regulations and also has a strict vetting process, ensuring that only fair and safe casinos can join.
Who Runs Cat Casino?
The site is owned and operated by Traflow Media N.V. It’s far from one of the biggest brands in the online gambling sector, but it’s still a legitimate brand and it is one that we’ll probably see a lot more of in the future.
Is There a VIP Program?
There doesn’t seem to be a VIP Program at the time of writing, but one might be added to the site at a later date. It has the air of a casino that is still growing, still improving, and if players respond well to it and give the operators a reason to add more content, we could see a good VIP Scheme. In the meantime, you can find a great loyalty scheme on Kingdom Casino.
Is Cat Casino Mobile Friendly?
Yes, you can play Cat Casino across all mobile devices, including iOS and Android. It supports tablets, phablets, and smartphones and looks great on all of them. The same is true for the desktop site, which is dynamic and will adapt as you change the size of the play window.
How Do I Join One of the Tournaments?
The rules for Cat Casino’s real money tournaments change. Check with the Terms and Conditions before you join to make sure you know the rules and follow them closely. In most cases, you are required to opt-in and then play a specific game or a series of games. You will also need to wager a minimum amount. The way that you accumulate points also changes from tournament to tournament, with some rewarding you when you wager and others giving you points based on your win ratio.
Final Thoughts
Cat Casino was only a few months old at the time of writing this review. As a result, many of the things that I have discussed could be changed and improved. There could even be a complete revamp on the cards, as we saw with the brilliant Fight Club Casino, which was born in the wreckage of a somewhat mediocre casino.
Take the theme as an example. I find it hard to believe that the site will continue to operate without a single cat, paw, treat, or toy. Maybe, in time, we’ll see more of these things added. Maybe it will go all-out, maybe not. In any case, something needs to change, and I suspect that it will.
It’s also likely that more reload bonuses and VIP bonuses will be added to the site, as this is something that it seriously lacks.
All issues aside, there is a lot to like about Cat Casino. For one thing, it offers players a broad selection of online casino payment options, covering both cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies. It also has a range of games, covering some of the best developers in the industry and offering massive jackpots and fantastic features.
All things considered; Cat Casino is not a perfect casino. It’s not unique, either. Still, if you are looking for a new online casino with a big Welcome Bonus, lots of cashback offers, and stacks of great games to play them on, you don’t need to look any further than Cat Casino.
Sometimes generic is good! As long as the site is trustworthy and has some bonuses to collect, it’s all good with me, and that’s exactly what Cat Casino has to offer.
Sure, it’s not the best one out there and I have to agree with you on that, but I’m so sick of casinos that try to be different and fail completely that I respect Cat Casino for keeping things simple.
Mr. Crypto
i agree with your review in that this site needs to have more of a theme. i expected something much…i dont know, just more!
I quite liked it
A casino with a cat theme? Count me in.
can’t beleive it took them this long to make a casino based on the internet’s favorite thing! Or at least…the internet’s favorite SFW thing!!!
Seems I can’t play this from where I am. Shame. It looked promising. I do love me some cats!
Love the theme. Love the games. Great bonuses. No complaints from me.
