Casino X doesn’t have the most creative name or theme, but we’re okay with that. In the past, we have been very critical of casinos that try to create unique themes and then fail miserably. Of course, when they succeed like King Billy, they look brilliant, but it seems that just as many of them fail.

Casino X keeps things simple and, as a result, it doesn’t make any immediate mistakes that would otherwise make this opening paragraph negative.

The question is, does Casino X excel in other areas, does it take risks that work or fail, and is it a worthwhile casino overall? Because while it’s acceptable to have a basic theme and name, we’re less inclined to get excited when the same barebones approach applies to a casino’s games, bonuses, and payment options.

Bonuses

Following an initial launch back in 2011, Casino X has been relatively quiet. It hasn’t made as big of an impact as casinos like Bitstarz, but that’s not much of a surprise. This site doesn’t have the backing of a massive brand like Direx N.V. It is owned and operated by Pomadorro N.V., a company that is licensed in Curacao and doesn’t really own any other notable websites.

That’s not a bad thing. We’ve given top scores to countless sites that are not accompanied by sister sites and aren’t funded by major global brands.

At the same time, however, you can’t join from Australia or Germany. Typically, players from these countries don’t have an issue joining Curacao-licensed online casinos. Games

Although Casino X doesn’t have a distinctive theme, it does have a very clean and clear layout, along with a fun illustrated style. It has rejected the super-streamlined and polished aesthetic that many casinos opt for and has instead chosen a series of animated illustrations.

You’ll see a selection of football players, Vikings, and monsters. In addition, at the time of writing at least, every single female depicted on the site looks like they have two perfectly round basketballs stuffed down their fronts and all of them are wearing short dresses, from the cheerleaders to the casino girls, mermaids and maidens.

What we found hilarious about this is that all of the “basketballs” are jiggling unnecessarily, as they have animated movements in all of the girls. The only exception is the mermaid, who is lying down in a pose reminiscent of the film Splash. Upon realising that they can’t make her “jiggle” due to her obvious lack of movement, they just decided to make her boobs sentient and have them inflate and deflate like the eyeballs of a surprised cartoon dog.

It’s hilariously tragic.

NetEnt is one of the biggest developers here and keeps the Casino X games room stocked with premium titles. If you’re not familiar with NetEnt, then it’s time to leave that cave you’ve been hiding in for 20 years and sample some of the casino industry’s best games.

Some of our personal favourite sections are the eSports and virtual betting sections. These are often underrepresented on modern sports books, despite the growth of these markets and the dire need that we had for them in 2020, but they are in plenty supply at Casino X.

In many ways, it reminds us of the Rabona sports book. However, this is an area where the aesthetic just doesn’t work for us. Maybe we’re letting familiarity speak for us, but we prefer sports books that are a little darker and use strong, contrasting colours. It ensures that better options stand out more and it makes it easier to consume all of the information on a single page, from the markets listed to live scores, odds, and more.

Still, this is a minor issue and is something we will get used to very quickly.

Another minor issue is the choice of odds. If you scroll down to the bottom of the sports book you’ll see options for five different odds systems: American, European (decimal), Malaysian, Hong Kong, Indonesian.

If you’re in the UK, as we are, you will have noticed a major omission from that list: fractional odds. These are used throughout the UK and Ireland and are some of the oldest in the world.

Of course, Casino X is not available in the UK so this won’t be an issue for the majority of players, but if you’re an expat, and you’re one of many UK/Ireland players who has yet to learn decimal/American odds, you might want to give this one a miss.

Bonuses

Casino X offers a 200% Matched Deposit Bonus that is capped at an impressive $2.000 and comes with 200 Free Spins. These spins are released in a batch of 20 per day for your first 10 days of membership. That’s a lot of money and spins and it’s a great way to introduce yourself to the casino and see what all the fuss is about!

In addition, you will also be given a free sports bet to use on any market of your choice. Typically, casino bonuses are separate from sports betting bonuses. On sites like Casino X and Fezbet Casino, you usually have to choose one or the other.

The one issue that we have with these bonuses is that they are not clearly defined and listed on the site. There is no Promotions section that details on how these bonuses work, and if you want to know the specifics, you need to dig through the Terms and Conditions.

In fact, to find the aforementioned Welcome Bonus, we had to check the many sliders on the site, click the one that represents a Welcome Bonus, and then check the terms and conditions. Definitely not as easy as clicking a “Promotions” page.

Of course, there is also a chance that such a page does exist and we just couldn’t find it, but that suggests it’s somewhat hidden and needs to be a little more prominent. In fact, that’s what sidebars and headers are for, and yet it’s nowhere to be seen on either!

Banking Options

Casino X accepts a broad selection of payment methods, including cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and traditional payment methods like ecoPayz. Surprisingly, Skrill and Neteller are not available here, but you can use MuchBetter, Neosurf, credit/debit cards, and several cryptocurrencies.

It is also one of the few sites we have seen that accepts American Express and Discover Card, as well as Visa and Mastercard.

You are limited to a maximum withdrawal of €4.000 a day, but this seems to extend to a potential €100.000 a month. There are a lot of good reviews out there for Casino X. However, you will find some negative reviews mixed in with these. Many of the negative reviews complain about the withdrawal limit, which, as noted above, is a little confusing. It seems that some players have scooped big wins, expected to be allowed to withdraw in one go, and then discovered that they were limited.

We have also seen some reviews complaining about the site’s layout, both on desktop and mobile. We didn’t experience any of these issues ourself, but we can see how many might not appreciate the aesthetics and the layout of the site.

Final Word

At the time of writing, Casino X is nearly a decade old. For some perspective, many of the sites that sit at the top of our best-rated Bitcoin casino list, were founded post 2016. At this point, Bitcoins were no longer obscure. Most people knew about them and many had invested or were thinking about investing.
