Bongo is a fun and colourful online casino that launched in 2020. It wasn’t launched to much fanfare, and that’s a shame, because it has all of the hallmarks of a very good online casino. In this Bongo review, we’ll highlight some of the site’s many features and see how it compares to other top sites out there.

Bongo is a fun and colourful online casino that launched in 2020.

There’s a lot to like here, as well as a few things that we definitely don’t like. So, if you’re looking for a new online casino and the bonuses to match, take a look at this review and see if Bongo is for you.

Slots and More at Bongo Casino

Basics

The online gambling industry is notorious for using strange domain extensions. In fact, Bongo is owned by Reinvent N.V., the same operators behind the excellent Casinoin, which uses the .IO extension, one that is often used by tech companies but is actually the top-level domain of the British Indian Ocean Territory.

Bongo follows the same trend with the GG domain. As any gamer will tell you, “GG” usually means “Good Game”, and is something that gamers say at the end of matches. It’s a way of showing their respect and makes for a nice change from the “Your Momma” jokes.

.GG is also the domain of the Bailiwick of Guernsey, which is one of the Channel Islands. You could be forgiven for thinking that this meant the site had some kind of presence in the UK, as used to be the case with sites based in Alderney, but it’s just a coincidence.

In fact, like the majority of Bitcoin casinos we have reviewed, Bongo is only licensed in Curacao. The good news, however, is that the site is available in a huge number of countries, with only a handful of restrictions (including France, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United States).

You only need to look at the site’s many language and currency options to see just how international it is. For instance, not only can you use everything from mBTC, USD, EUR, and GBP, but you can also take your pick of languages like English, Greek, Spanish, Chinese, and Polish.

Bongo definitely likes to give its players choice, and that’s something we always like to see.

Not only does it make life easier for players from specific regions and players with specific tastes, but it shows that they are dedicated to offering variety and keeping everyone happy. As noted below in our games section, that variety also extends to the site’s many developers, slots, and table games.

Software

We love casinos with vibrant colours and we have a soft spot for purples, blues, and blacks. Don’t get us wrong, we’ll play anything if the site is easy on the eye and professionally designed, but there’s something warming and inviting about these colours.

Maybe it’s because we often play on an evening, after we’ve spent the day working, getting stressed, and growing tired. Maybe it’s because we have been positively influenced by brilliantly designed casinos like Cadabrus.

Whatever the reason, these colours work for us and they are the ones used by Bongo Casino. It uses a soothing black and purple colour scheme, and the promotional images and other icons use different gradients of the same colours. It’s clear that a lot of thought has gone into the way the site looks, and we will happily go on record as saying that it’s one of the best-looking sites we have reviewed.

It’s not just the aesthetic, either. The developers at Bongo have also spent a lot of time creating a site that feels natural and flows seamlessly.

There are no frustrating menus, pop-ups or notifications getting in the way, and you don’t have to worry about slow and sluggish menus.

This is true for both desktop and mobile. You would expect a 2020 online casino to have a solid mobile layout these days, but that’s not always the case. We have reviewed some sites that stumbled at this hurdle and have been very critical of them as a result. But we didn’t have any of these issues with Bongo.

Play Bongo Casino Games

Games

The Bongo games room is massive, and that’s not an exaggeration. At the time of conducting this Bongo review, there are 4,214 games in total, including 3,650 real money slot machines.

To put that into perspective, Bongo has more games than the immense Wild Tornado online casino, a site we often use as an example when talking about extensive gaming rosters.

When you have such a wide range of games to choose from, you’re always guaranteed to find something that you like. In fact, just take a look at the developers that you can find here:

  • NetEnt: If you ask 100 online slot fans to name their 5 top developers, there’s a high chance that a least 95% of those will name NetEnt. There are 130+ of this developer’s games at Bongo, including a selection of its biggest titles. Starburst and Gonzo’s Quest are two of the creator’s biggest games and both are available here, alongside our personal favourites like Guns ‘n’ Roses, Butterfly Staxx, and Bloodsuckers.
  • Microgaming: You’ll find over 160 Microgaming titles here. Most players have a love/hate relationship with this creator. It created some of the first-ever online casino games back in the mid-90s and it continues to produce top titles, albeit with a few barebones “filler” titles thrown in. We recommend Avalon, Immortal Romance, and all of the Stars series, which uses the Rolling Reels feature.
  • Blueprint: One of our favourite developers and one that doesn’t get as much attention as it deserves. Blueprint Gaming has launched some amazing titles in the last few years, including Diamond Mine, King Kong Cash, Wild Antics, and Wish Upon a Jackpot.
  • Yggdrasil Gaming: Another underrated developer, Yggdrasil has more than 80 games at Bongo, including Valley of the Gods, Baron Samedi, Hanzo’s Dojo, and Tesla’s Incredible Machine. It’s on a rapid ascent and could be one of the three biggest names in the next few years, so check out its games!
  • Play’n GO: We consider ourselves to be pretty well versed in the online gambling sector. We can recite hundreds of real money slots and their creators, and we know how many games most of those creators have released. We were shocked, however, to discover that Bongo had 184 Play’n GO games, as we didn’t even know this developer had that many titles on its list! Still, the more the merrier, as this is the innovative company behind games like Book of Dead, Reactoonz, 7Sins, and Golden Ticket.
  • Betsoft: We have saved the best for last. Betsoft Gaming develops some of the best-looking slots in the industry and also uses a host of unique features. It has won many awards for its innovation and if you have ever played its games, you’ll know why. If not, now is the perfect time, as Bongo is home to more than 110 Betsoft titles, including Under the Bed, The True Sheriff, Slotfather 2, Once Upon a Time, and Black Gold.
  • Playtech: If Microgaming is the oldest developer then Playtech is the biggest. It usually dominates online casinos and while that’s not the case with Bongo, it still plays a major role. You will find 130+ Playtech games at Bongo, including A Night Out, Epic Ape, and Halloween Fortune.

That’s a lot of games from a lot of top developers, but it’s only just scratching the surface. There are many more great games to discover here. In fact, even when you take all of the above creators out of the equation, Bongo is still home to over 3,000 real money slots.

Bongo Casino Promotions and Bonuses

Bonuses

Bongo doesn’t have the biggest Welcome Bonuses we have seen, but like many other aspects of this online casino, it does have a lot of variety.

In the first instance, you can benefit from a Welcome Bonus offering a 120% Matched Deposit Bonus up to €185 or 1.000 mBTC. In addition, you can also get 20 Free Spins a week for the first four weeks of your membership.

To qualify, you just need to deposit a minimum of €10 or 1 MBTC.

It’s a generous offer but you will have to clear a wagering requirement of 50x if you want to collect. And before you rush off to play a few high-stake games of Roulette or Blackjack, it’s worth noting that table games don’t count toward the wagering requirements and Live Casino games only count for 10%.

Most slots count 100%, but a number of games are excluded from this. You can find these games in the Terms and Conditions. We recommend taking a look at the Ts & Cs before you start playing and working your way through the playthrough rate, otherwise, you may take a few hundred spins only to discover that you’ve made no progress because your chosen game doesn’t count.

If you find that you meet the maximum amount of this bonus fairly easily, you may want to check some of the bigger bonuses offered by the likes of Oshi Casino.

Don’t give up on Bongo just yet, though. There are other bonuses to collect, including regular Free Spin offers, Reload bonuses, Cashback offers, and mystery bonuses.

Banking Options

Bongo is very nearly flawless when it comes to payment options. You can choose from a variety of different methods, including cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin and traditional options like Skrill and Neteller. Payments are processed very quickly as well, with most options taking just a couple of hours.

There might be verification requests, as these are commonplace on modern online casinos, but these are processed just as quickly and there are certainly no complaints from us in that regard.

The issue that we have with this casino is the same issue we have had with many others: the withdrawal limit. We always groan when we see one of these as they are never a good thing and are usually very restrictive. Where Bongo is concerned, players are limited to withdrawals of no more than €7.000 a day, and this extends to €30.000 a week and €125.000 a month.

It’s certainly not the worse we have seen and it looks pretty generous when compared to the low limits on sites like Buran Casino, but it’s still not ideal.

Withdrawal limits are bad news for all high rollers, although you’re probably not going to be affected by this unless you are depositing upwards of €5.000 at a time. And even if you are, it’s only slightly inconvenient and just means you need to wait a few extra weeks to get all of your winnings.

Final Word

There’s a lot to like on Bongo Casino. It is a very well-designed online casino and it’s clear that the creators have spent a great deal of time and money developing a streamlined, eye-catching interface that is easy to use. We were a little concerned when we saw that the casino had a withdrawal limit and we expected the worst but we were pleasantly surprised.

Sure, a withdrawal limit is never a good thing, but when it’s capped at a generous €7.000 a day and €30.000 a week, it probably won’t affect you. One of the issues that we didn’t mention is that Bongo is a little slow and unresponsive on the customer support side of things, with Live Chat that doesn’t run for 24/7 and seems to slow right down during the final few hours of the day.

We did include this on our list of Pros and Cons, but we didn’t mention it as a major issue because we’re writing this review toward the end of 2020. The site hasn’t been open for very long at this point and we’re also in the middle of the second wave, so it’s forgivable for casinos to be struggling a little with regards to their resources.

These minor issues aside, Bongo is a brilliant online casino that ticks a lot of boxes and is near perfect. It’s definitely the best online casino in the Reinvent N.V. range, and while the range is small, it’s also impressive, so that’s a pretty big statement to make!
