Argo Casino confused us at first. We were introduced to this casino by a Bitcoin player who recommended it to us. However, after checking the site, we noticed that it didn’t list Bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies anywhere on its homepage and under the, “Which payment options do you accept?” in its FAQ, cryptocurrencies aren’t mentioned.
We dismissed it, only to return many weeks later and give it another try.
There was something here that we liked and we were keen to get to the bottom of this “crypto or no crypto” issue. After joining the site and speaking with Live Chat, we can confirm that it does accept Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies. It doesn’t make a point of highlighting these payment methods, and they are not as prominently placed as you’ll find with casinos like Zet Casino, but they definitely exist.
It’s an attractive casino and it caught our eye straight away. The question is, how does it compare to other top Bitcoin casinos in other areas?
It’s an attractive casino and it caught our eye straight away.
Basics
We have reviewed a lot of Araxio and Direx online casinos here at CoinBuzz. Argo Casino is neither. It is owned by a company called JocSystems N.V, which is based in Gibraltar. Many Gibraltar based and licensed gambling companies offer their services to players in the UK, but that’s not the case with Argo Casino. In fact, while the operator is based in Gibraltar, it doesn’t seem to be licensed there.
Instead, Argo Casino is licensed by the authorities of Curacao, which means it focuses more on players from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and countries across Northern Europe, with the exception of France, Ireland, the Netherlands, and the UK.
Fans of Greek mythology will recognise the name of the casino instantly. The Argo or Αργώ, was the boat that Jason and his famous crew sailed on their adventure across the Aegean sea, one that culminated in the discovery of the Golden Fleece. It is one of the greatest stories ever told, and it took place on one of history’s most famous ships.
Will your journey with Argo Casino be just as prosperous as Jason and his crew?
Games
The boat theme runs throughout Argo Casino and works really well. We wouldn’t go as far as to say that it was great, but it’s pleasing. The main issue that we have is that it’s a little too cartoonish, and while this can work really well, as proven by Nomini Casino, Argo can feel like an overindulgence of blacks, whites, and yellows, and at times it’s an assault on your senses.
In addition, we would have liked to see more of an emphasis on games that are set in Ancient Greece. The Age of the Gods series is a great example of this, as it explores many gods and heroes who helped Jason on his journey, including the vengeful Zeus and the powerful Hercules. But Argo Casino doesn’t have any games from this series or from its creator, Playtech.
We did find a few slots based on the legends of Sparta and Ancient Egypt. Which is somewhat relevant, but these were just mixed with all the other slots in the casino’s game’s room. To confuse matters, we noticed a few strange graphical additions, including a purple-robed wizard straight out of a fantasy story—not befitting of a theme based in ancient Greece.
As we always say, if you’re going to create a unique theme, run with it, push it to the extreme, and make players feel like they are immersed in that world. Don’t restrict it to a name, a logo, and basic colour scheme.
Visual issues aside, Argo Casino has an expansive collection of online casino games, including titles created by the massive Microgaming, the brilliant Betsoft, the masterful NetEnt, and a host of others. It makes for an intriguing selection of games and ensures that all players and stake levels are catered for.
You can play directly through your web browser, and this is true whether you’re playing on a desktop or mobile. Argo Casino has a download casino as well and encourages players to get the software. We assume that this will allow for quicker and more streamlined play, but it’s really not necessary in this day and age.
We would pin it on Argo Casino’s age, as it was launched back in 2014, but that was during the height of the instant play and mobile gaming eras, and downloadable casino trends were long dead at that point.
Sports
Argo Casino is much more than a simple online casino. It also has a sports betting site attached, not unlike Rabona Casino and Sports Book. Players can place bets pre-game and in-play, and while the majority of the betting markets are for major football events (Champions League, Premier League, La Liga, Europa League, Series A) there is also support for the following:
- Basketball
- Baseball
- Volleyball
- Table Tennis
- Ice Hockey
- eSports
- Handball
- Table Football
- Badminton
- Cricket
- Boxing
- Darts
- Formula 1
- Netball
- Rugby Union
- Rugby League
In our guide to Rabona and our review of Fezbet, we noted how the site seemed to be geared more toward UK and Irish players, even though they were not allowed to join. Where the Argo sports book is concerned, you get more of a feeling that this is a universal betting site.
For instance, while football, UK horse racing, snooker, and other UK-focused sports are covered extensively, players are also invited to bet on netball, handball, table tennis, table football, NFL games, and more, suggesting that it is trying to appeal to its large base of Canadian players.
If you can’t find any sports to bet on, click onto the Virtual Sports section instead. These high-quality simulated games allow you to bet on everything from virtual football to virtual tennis, badminton, and horse racing. Argo Casino has really gone out of its way to provide players with a large choice of games.
The games are provided by BetRadar, which has one of our favourite games of football (via the Football League Mode) and Kiron Interactive, which provides everything from Keno to Badminton, Football, and Archery. Kiron can be hit and miss, but the company certainly knows its stuff when it comes to virtual games like this and has produced some belters over the years.
In fact, if you have ever played virtual horse racing games, including the ones that used to feature on major UK and Ireland bookmakers, there’s a good chance you’re already familiar with Kiron’s work.
All of these games work just like the real thing. There are fixed start times, and a host of outright bets and match bets to place. The games run around the clock, and with games of football, you can watch an entire league season or World Cup play out before your eyes. We’re so entranced by these simulated games that we found ourselves watching them for 20 minutes even though we didn’t have a bet on.
Maybe it’s because we’ve been deprived of football, maybe it’s because we’re obsessed with the game, but it says a lot for the quality of the simulations that we were so drawn to them.
Bonuses
The Argo Casino Welcome Bonus offers up to €500 as a 100% matched bonus. It’s a decent amount of money. Not quite comparable to casino bonuses like 1xSlots, but definitely on part with some other top offers.
As always, there are some Terms and Conditions to be aware of and some of these are concerning. For instance, while many Welcome Bonuses like this require players to deposit a minimum of €10, and others stretch this to €20, Argo Casino requires a total of €40. We don’t recall ever seeing a minimum deposit amount that high. Sure, they exist on high roller bonuses, but limited bonuses targeted at all players? Very uncommon.
In addition, the bonus Terms and Conditions don’t state how large the wagering requirements are, only that they need to be met within 15 days, and players using Skrill and Neteller will not qualify.
The Terms and Conditions are very awkward and look like they may have been created with help from Google translate, which is why you will see strangely worded terms like this, “In order to cancel it, there is necessary to contact Customer Support”.
Maybe the wagering requirements were lost in translation. If we assume that they are the same as other promotions, they will be fixed at 40x for the bonus amount.
Thankfully, the Welcome Bonus isn’t the only offer available at Argo Casino. Players can collect a number of Reload bonuses, Free Spins, and more. There are sports betting bonuses, slot bonuses, Live Casino promotions, and more.
The bonus page reminds us of MELbet, and that can only be a good thing.
Loyalty Program
As our regular readers can attest, we love a good Loyalty Scheme here at CoinBuzz. Some of our favourite online casinos have them and they are actually quite common in the Bitcoin casino sector.
Every time you wager €50 at Argo Casino, you will earn 1 Loyalty Point, and when you earn 5 of these, you’ll advance from Beginner to Bronze. Get 25 and you’ll move to Silver. Keep collecting those points to reach the Diamond level, at which point you’ll be offered the best conversion rates.
You won’t find a long list of perks and rewards, but you can swap your Loyalty Points for bonus credits, and that’s good enough. One of the things that we like about the Argo Casino Loyalty Scheme is that everything is very transparent. The casino makes it clear how many points you will earn for every X amount wagered and how many you need to advance to the next level.
Payments
As noted already, you won’t see Bitcoins and other cryptocurrencies listed on the bottom of the Argo Casino homepage, or anywhere else for that matter. However, if you visit your Cashier, it is listed as one of the many deposit and withdrawal options, along with Litecoin and Ethereum. Alternatively, you can use Skrill or Neteller. Just remember that these methods will exclude you from many of the casino’s bonuses, including the main Welcome Bonus.
It’s annoying, especially if this is the method that you’re used to, but unfortunately, the same is true for the majority of online casinos and sports betting sites these days. The best thing to do is to switch over to an alternative payment method, including Bitcoin.
You can also check with our other Bitcoin casino review pages to see if there is anything else that catches your eye and lets you collect a bonus using these popular web wallets.
Another feature that is becoming increasing common in this industry is the withdrawal limit, and Argo Casino has one of them as well. You cannot withdraw more than €1,500 a day, €3,000 a week or €9,000 a month. We often complain about Araxio owned casinos, where the limit is just €500 a day. However, those casinos allow you to deposit up to €10,000 a month, and in that sense, Argo Casino is even more restrictive!
It’s disappointing, but not entirely unexpected. This is not a casino for high rollers.

Conclusion
Argo Casino clearly has a lot to offer. It has an interesting theme, some decent games, good bonuses, and a choice of multiple different payment options. It’s also very easy to sign up. As soon as you click “Join Now”, you’ll be greeted with a sign-up page where you can input your contact details. Alternatively, select one of the social media options at the bottom and sign up through there. If you are logged in through that particular account, you can sign up in just a few seconds.
Make sure you visit the site using the links on this page. That way, you can get the latest Welcome Bonus offered by Argo Casino, while also joining its Loyalty Program.

Can I Play in the UK?
No! But there are many other sites out there that you can join from the United Kingdom, including the superb 32Red Casino.
Can I Join from the US?
You cannot join the site from the United States as the industry is still very tightly regulated over there.
What is the Withdrawal Limit?
The withdrawal limit is fixed at a very low €9,000 a month.
What Happens if I Exceed the Limit?
In such cases, your withdrawal should roll over to the next period.
Does it Accept Bitcoin?
Yes, you can use BTC to gamble here, although the main currency is EUR.
Is it Suitable for High Rollers?
Unfortunately, no, the withdrawal limit means this site is not ideal for high rollers.
The bonuses are not the best here. I quite like the theme and I enjoy playing here, but it’s rare that I deposit enough to get the maximum bonus amount and that’s basically what happened here.
