Basics

In the past, I reviewed Mars Casino, which I really enjoyed and praised quite highly. That site morphed into KatsuBet Casino, and I had a lot of good things to say about that, as well.

Needless to say, when I first saw MarsBet Casino I immediately assumed there was a connection and was quite pleased about that. As it happens, there is no such connection.

MarsBet Casino is owned by a company known as Alpha Entertainment, and as far as I can tell, the brand doesn’t operate any other online casinos or sportsbooks.

That’s not a major concern, though, as it’s still a certified and regulated site that can be trusted 100%. Furthermore, it has been around since 2013 and sponsors several sports clubs, including Hibernian FC in Scotland.

The fact that a casino sponsors a football club doesn’t automatically mean it’s worthy of your time and money, but it does mean that it’s much more than a dodgy fly-by-night scam site, and so it’s always a good sign.

Software and Games

The layout of MarsBet Casino is a little messy, or rather it was a little messy at the time that I conducted the review and on the platform that I used. Some of the menus were squished together and it made everything look a little cluttered. However, once I opened some of the menus, things cleared up a little and looked much cleaner.

The designers have done a good job of adding hundreds of games, sports betting markets, virtual sports, and other sections into the website. There’s a lot going on here and while it can be a little cluttered at times, it’s not as bad as sites like MELbet Casino.

You will find dozens of top developers at MarsBet Casino, including the much-loved NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Yggdrasil, Playson, Quickspin, Microgaming, and Big Time Gaming. Betsoft is also included here and it’s much more than an afterthought, as there are stacks of great Betsoft slots, including House of Fun, Sin City Nights, A Christmas Carol, At The Copa, and Spinfinity Man.

There are jackpot games, Megaways, Cascading Reels, Locked Wilds, and more. What’s more, most of the games at MarsBet Casino are mobile friendly and there are new titles being added to the roster all of the time.

In total, there are close to 5,000 games in the MarsBet Casino games room, making this one of the biggest online casinos that I have covered. It’s not just about quantity either, as MarsBet Casino also has oodles of quality and endless variety.

Moving away from the online casino side of things, MarsBet Casino has a couple of sections devoted to sports betting. You can bet pre-game and in-play and there are a multitude of sports and markets to choose from.

As is usually the case, football is the biggest sport here and the one where you will find the most betting markets, but there is a decent amount of coverage for other sports as well, including rugby, snooker, American football, basketball, and baseball. Esports are very well represented here and there are markets for first-person shooters, sports games, strategy games, and more.

You’ll also find a variety of esport live streams. At the time of writing, there were some League of Legends streams, as well as ones devoted to Counter-Strike. It’s always good to see these live streams as it means you don’t need to go hunting for Twitch/YouTube links and everything you need is contained in a single website.

In addition, MarsBet Casino has a virtual sports section where you can place bets as you wait for big games to start. These sports are provided by Pragmatic Play Live and include Penalty Shootout, Greyhound Racing, Horse Racing, and Fantastic League. If you click on the “Golden Race” section, you will find even more virtual sports. I actually prefer this section, although both of them have a lot to offer and there are a wealth of markets to choose from and games to watch.

One of the great things about MarsBet Casino is that it’s devoted to keeping its content updated and its players content. At the time of writing, some 8 years after the site was first launched, there are two new sections on the website, including bingo.

Unfortunately, many online casinos do the bare minimum. They go with a white label service, take whatever they can get, and then wait for the big bucks to roll in. They are seemingly more interested in launching new casinos than improving their old ones, and it leads to a lot of mediocrity. Thankfully, MarsBet Casino is not one of those sites and it actually seems to care about providing a quality service and keeping its players happy.

Bonuses and Promotions

There are some respectable bonuses on MarsBet Casino, but they are far from the best and when you dig beneath the surface, they actually get very disappointing.

Let’s use the main bonus as an example: 100% Deposit Bonus and 100 Free Spins.

That’s how it is advertised, and it doesn’t look too bad at first glance, but the terms are poor.

Firstly, that 100% offer is capped at a meagre €200, which pales in comparison to most of the other sites we have reviewed. The average is closer to €1,000 and some sites offer up to €5,000, so it’s disappointing to see a cap of €200.

Secondly, the 100 Free Spins are capped at a terrible €0.01 each, which works out at just €1 for all 100.

In previous reviews, I’ve discussed the importance of checking the value of all Free Spins as they could range from between €0.01 to €1 per spin. It’s a massive difference and while it’s rare to see sites offering just €0.01, MarsBet Casino is one such site. To make matters worse, it doesn’t even make this clear until you have collected the bonus and have started spinning.

One of the strangest additions is the term that states, “The age limit is 60 to benefit from this promotion”.

I understand the need for minimum age limits, as they are required by law. But a maximum?

Bit weird…

There are other bonuses available at MarsBet Casino, but they aren’t the best. In fact, the aforementioned Welcome Bonus is the biggest one available on MarsBet Casino at the time of writing, and when you consider all of the aforementioned terms, that’s a pretty disappointing fact.

For some reason, MarsBet Casino just can’t get a grip on Welcome Bonuses or Loyalty Bonuses. It’s a far cry from excellent sites like Oshi Casino, and if you’re looking to collect lots of spins or bonus credits, that’s where you should start.

Payment Options

MarsBet Casino processes payments very quickly and has a pending period that typically lasts just a few hours. It’s always good to see withdrawals being processed this quickly as far too many casinos site on payments for between 1 and 3 days, and that’s just not acceptable in this day and age.

Players can choose from a wide variety of payment options, including both cryptocurrencies and traditional payment options. Take your pick from popular options like Bitcoin, Visa, and MasterCard, as well as region-specific payment methods like WebMoney. It’s a selection that should appeal to players from most regions and preferences.

As far as the withdrawal limits are concerned, the terms and conditions do mention such a limit but they do not state an actual amount. If you’re a high roller who often gets stung by withdrawal limits, I recommend contacting the casino first and clarifying how much you will be allowed to deposit and withdraw.

It’s always good to get this information in writing just in case the actual limit is much more restrictive than they initially claimed.

User Reviews

MarsBet Casino has attracted a lot of negative reviews over the last couple of years and the bulk of these concern the Welcome Bonus and the terrible terms discussed above. You can’t help but think that these terms exist because some executive has looked at the metrics and realised that they can reduce the generosity of the bonus to give away less cash and make a few more bucks. But players are not stupid. They know when they are being sold BS, and a €0.01 Free Spin is 100% BS.

It’s difficult to impress players with your generosity without giving too much cash away, but MarsBet Casino has clearly focused too much on the latter and not enough on the former. As a result, players have criticised it heavily and are so busy lambasting the casino’s bonuses that they overlook the many good features, such as the massive selection of slots and table games.

It’s a shame, as MarsBet Casino has done a great job everywhere else and has let itself down with the Welcome Bonus.

MarsBet Casino has a lot going for it and is a casino that’s definitely worth joining. In fact, if not for the very limited bonus and the poor bonus terms, it would be close to a 5/5 casino and would be near the very top of our Bitcoin casino ranking list. As things stand, it’s still a solid site, but it’s somewhat flawed, and that’s incredibly frustrating.
